Leadership 101

To me correct leadership is defined by doing your best to make everyone happy, but holding the group together with confidence and make the decisions that need to be made. Leadership to me is the ability to take a group and mold the actions and goals of that group to fit my purpose. Also a leader to me is someone who can abide by their moral codes and do the right thing even though no one is watching.Each year in the ALA program, or academic leadership academy, there is a problem in the school we are tasked to fix. The year I was a freshman we were tasked to fix PBIS, the positive behavior rewards system. To fix this problem we had to diagnose the problem. Next we had to was figure out a plausible way to fix this problem and present our findings to the administration. These findings would be used to improve PBIS. This helped me develop my definition of leadership because during this project my ideas could help a bigger purpose. Also it gave me experience working in large groups. This large group made me appreciate the true leaders who can control large groups correctly. This will be a helpful experience in the job market and college, because ill know how to effectively communicate my point and portray to groups that i can effectively make he correct decisions for the group.
